Considerations when choosing a CNC system in a mechanical processing plant

 

The functional applicability of CNC system is undoubtedly an important restrictive factor for the design and selection of CNC machine tools. The first thing to consider is its driving ability, different CNC suppliers in the solution of the power range of servo and supporting motor range is also different.

 

First, it should be preliminarily screened from the matching motor type and power range. In particular, attention should be paid to whether the CNC machine tool scheme includes torque motor, linear motor, electric spindle belongs to the synchronous electric spindle or asynchronous electric spindle, the rated current demand and overload current demand of the above motor, the speed demand of the electric spindle.

 

Five-axis machine tools need to be clear whether the five-axis linkage or only requires five-surface processing, the corresponding choice of CNC system functions are also different. For example, for the five-sided box type processing, usually do not need RTCP, the choice is relatively large. At the same time, the five-axis function may involve the CNC system supplier in the export license, after-sales service, etc. must be seriously considered.

 

Most of the CNC machine tools, especially large and heavy CNC machine tools, have full closed loop and double drive demand. In the full closed-loop control scheme, it is necessary to choose between the distance encoding grating and the ordinary incremental grating, and the CNC system should also support the corresponding feedback signal access.

 

The network support of CNC system has become a necessary condition for the integration of production system. For the CNC machine tool to be included in the highly automated production system, the CNC system must have the corresponding access solution, including the low-level PLC input and output point to the built-in OPC server and open the internal data of the CNC system to the user according to OPC standard; in addition to the production system, the automatic online artifact detection and tool detection are also necessary functions.
